We are so excited to announce Lou Shipley has joined our Board of Directors. He brings tremendous expertise in software startups and will accelerate our work to help developers maintain their flow state via preconfigured, single-click dev environments.
Lou is an enterprise software executive with over 25 years of experience as an entrepreneur, sales innovator, investor, and technology business writer. He currently teaches entrepreneurial sales at the Harvard Business School. Previously, he was the CEO of Black Duck Software where he led the company through six quarters of record growth and an acquisition by Synopsys for $565 million in 2017.
"With the rapid growth WayScript is experiencing, Lou’s expertise is an ideal addition to our board," said Jesse Orshan, WayScript cofounder and CEO. "Since our days sitting in his class at HBS, Lou has been one of Lane and my most trusted advisors. We are thrilled to have his guidance as we continue scaling our platform to development teams around the world."
Lou has a wealth of experience guiding startups. He’s held key roles at Avid, WebLine (Cisco), FairMarket (Ebay), Reflectent (Citrix) and VMTurbo. He's also spent time on the investing side, most recently as Executive-in-Residence at General Catalyst.

WayScript is an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that enables builders to spin up customizable development environments in a single click. Environments integrate Docker, Kubernetes, and all your third-party dev tooling (GitHub, Datadog, PagerDuty, Jenkins, CircleCI, Auth0, etc.). Developer teams use it everyday to quickly build REST APIs, cron jobs, data pipelines, internal tools, and other automations. WayScript is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant, works on the desktop or the browser, and you can self-host on your own VPC.
